Hi! I'm (kind of) alive. Currently I'm home for a few days, taking a break from school. Life's been stressful, you know?

I'm currently working on my capstone for school, which is essentially a full-on concert of the work I've done for 4 years. It's been really rewarding work so far! However, it's also extremely tiring. Scheduling rehearsals, running them, making sure people are doing what they're supposed to be doing. At least I'm collaborating with others who are cool and want me to succeed.

Ok, I promised myself I wouldn't make this all about school and stuff. I gotta not talk about work all the time. Not because I think no one cares, but I just can't have it revolve around my life everywhere all the time.

In order to pass the time and keep myself from being mentally swamped, I've been writing some fun little tunes on the side! Stuff that I think sounds cool, and not because I need to follow a certain criteria. It's also a way to help build my sample library. No seriously.

I learned in a class last semester about how important it is to have a sample library, especially if you want to go into electronic music or music for media. I'm trying to find the article where Charlie Clouser (the composer for most, if not all, the Saw films) discusses this, but it's nowhere. Oh well, if I end up finding it again I'll post it in here.

See, there I go again talking about school!

I think it's hard to not talk about it when it's so much at the forefront of your consciousness. With my capstone to my decisions about grad school (don't even get me started on that) and making sure I don't fall behind on my other assignments, it's hard to focus on anything else that's not a humourous distraction. I mean, it's really why I haven't done so much work on my website recently.

I feel bad for leaving my site to rot (more so to get covered in dust), but I just never have the energy to do stuff with it that's not minor changes. I have ideas for larger scale overhauls, but they're just going to have to wait once my recital is done and school starts to wind down. Then I'll graduate, I'll move into a new apartment, maybe find a part time job depending on my timeline for grad school.

Stress!
